To preface this project, let me explain that I collect the flowers I am given for pretty much any occasion and then I dry them. Every year I perform in a Christmas concert for church and we have a wonderful lady who makes us a Christmas corsage to wear. I had gathered quite a few, since I’ve been singing with…

Christmas Gift Exchange
I randomly picked my sister for a gift exchange and I decided to etch a deco-block for her. This particular block can be used strictly as a decoration, but also has the ability to be a vase, a bank, and a light box. I chose a celtic knot as the design because of things my sister and her husband have…
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
I did an etching on a mirror this past week. I think it turned out great, but the pictures are hard to take (being a mirror and all). Here are close-ups of the etching work. The pictures focused on the reflection in the mirror, rather than the etching, so it looks blurred. They were all actually very crisp lines. (“Swoosh”…
Holiday Votives
I wanted to try out making some holiday decorations and so I started with this votive. I was a little unsure about the details coming out okay, but it turned out just as I wanted. This was a really fun one to try out.
It’s A Boy!
I heard glass bottles were back in style, so I etched one and gave it as a congratulations gift. Then I filled it with blue m&m’s and added some balloons as well. I think that it may have even been cute with the word “Congrats!” on it also. I think that this would also make a cute decoration for a…
It’s a Girl!
I had a fun time this week etching a square canister for a baby shower gift. This was a shower for a little girl that had already been born, so I was able to include her initials along with a bunch of butterflies. Then, I filled the canister up with burp cloths.
More Spring Weddings
I had the pleasure of making another plate as a wedding gift recently. I have been making several of these lately, but I am not the best at taking photos, so I only have this one to show you.
Group Gift
There was a group who wanted to purchase a group gift for a wedding shower. They decided on a crock pot and I added the bride-to-be’s future name on it. This way she can take it to church and family functions, without anyone wondering who it belongs to afterwards. I also etched one as a housewarming present, but I did…
Happy Mother’s Day
A customer bought these vases and asked me to etch them. They made cute gifts which were given to several women for the holiday.
Spring Wedding Gifts
I made two large round plates for wedding gifts recently. I think they turned out pretty good. These were drawn and etched by hand based on a printout I made.
